A remote failover test is being conducted to ensure our new BNGs correctly migrate in the event of a fault or hardware failure. We anticipate the failover may cause a disruption to services for up to 5-10 minutes while sessions migrate.
However, if your router is configured for IPoE with a long session timeout, you may experience an internet loss for up to 60 minutes. If you're actually awake either:
-Go to sleep (lol)
-Reboot your modem at around 3.10am and your internet should be restored.
-Send us an email containing weird memes which will confuse us while we're in a delirious state at 3am.
Affects approx 50% of residential NBN services in Victoria (any attached to BNG-A at the time of testing).
A subset of services in Melbourne will experience a brief 15 to 30 minute outage while services are shifted onto a new BNG platform to support upcoming emergency maintenance.
You will have received email notification if your service is affected.
A brief service disruption occurred to Victorian customers. Our secondary BNG became overloaded and rebooted itself. We are aware of this potential issue and have been moving customers off the platform in batches for the last week. The device will be fully decomissioned in the next 48 hours after which full stability should return.
