Changes to Consumer Plans from 14 September

As you may be aware from information in the media, nbn is modifying the speed tiers for its FTTP and HFC internet offerings starting today. This means that there have been some significant changes to the speeds on offer here at FUBAR - but no change to existing pricing!

Changes to Plans and Pricing from 1st of July

Each year nbn, Opticomm and other suppliers update the wholesale pricing of services in line with CPI which leads us to conduct a pricing review.

For the upcoming financial year, we have been hit particularly hard with price increases from suppliers necessitating changes to our plans and prices.

This is mostly a result of the current economic climate, and has meant a larger increase in wholesale costs than we typically expect. This sentiment is being echoed across the Australian ISP space as we are beginning to see similar price jumps (if not greater) announced by other providers - this is not exclusive to us at IT'S FUBAR.

With any internet provider, NBN and Opticomm costs make up the bulk of our service to you - but far from all of it. As an example, we have been hit with a 10.5% increase in costs associated with our 25/10 plan. This is across components including service tails, transit and backhaul - the sum of which we are unable to absorb in our already thin bottom line.

However, we have also been in negotiation with several vendors involved in our services to offset costs elsewhere, which means we've been able to absorb nearly 3% of the price increase to the 25/10 plan ourselves. We know and feel the struggle and are commited to finding ways to keep costs down for our customers.

Where price increases are required, our aim has been to ensure we make only the same profit we currently make so that we can continue to offer great services and competitive pricing. In some instances, we've been able to reduce service costs to make our higher plans more competitive for customers seeking a speed increase.
